I built an undewater camera for the local swim coach. He used it last year with a TiVo to record video of the swimmers and display the video 20 seconds delayed. As each swimmer finished a lap and looked at the video of his 20seconds before swimming stroke, the coach would point out technique for improvements. Recently something happened with the TiVo and the machine is giving the message of "needs subscrition before you can watch live tv".
I would like to make a minimum cost time shifting, system to replace the TiVo box.
Could this be done with a diskless system that has an analog composite-in tuner card? (no big deal to use some hard drives though..)
Is there a well supported on-board video chipset that I should look for?
I already own an ATI tvwonder that I could donate to the project but am willing to look at another choice.
