If you guys want to know why you'll never hear from me again after this, it's almost certainy because I was banned.

But in the hopes that a few people will see the wrong that is going on here...

I'd say the post got deleted because he didn't want me airing the dirty laundry of their heavy handedness, bad publicity or something.

If you have a question regarding a specific incident, make a thread in the resolution center. Posting threads like this is counterproductive and may be interpreted as whining. The same goes for your signature.

I'd say that they should eat their own dog food, they like being "open", so why not be open with how their system allows any of their moderators to abuse their position to lash out irrationally at someone who criticized them?

The infraction was issued because you defied a moderator's closure of a thread, and posted the exact same complaint. You are free to challenge the decision, but simply ignoring it and reposting the material is not an option.

In any case, the reason the initial thread was closed was not because of any fear of "bad publicity," but simply because the decisions of #ubuntu are not related to this forum, and discussing their policies is off-topic here.

The original thread was closed however I felt really strongly on this issue so I just wanted to chime in:

Not that my opinion counts, but I'm voting for burnt beans on this one. Quit complaining. Ubuntu forums isn't a right, its a privilege. There is no such thing as free speech here -- at least the last time I checked. If you don't like the moderation style, find a different forum! I for one will defend the moderators since they are unpaid volunteers and do a lot to positively promote ubuntu. Rants like this really help no one, and really are not productive in any way! I've received a lot of infractions also, however, after some time has passed, I agree with all the situations in which I crossed the line. Hopefully with time, you will gather wisdom that complaining about stupid things such as infractions are counterproductive and really dont help anyone -- including yourself!

I'm not sure that this thread will go much better than its predecessor.

Reply thread merged, and the whole mess moved to Forum Feedback & Help. Please don't create new threads on closed topics. Disputes with -- and/or opinions of -- other users should normally be directed privately toward the staff.

We try to avoid burning beans and banning as much as we can. (Sometimes I think we wait too long in our efforts to solve problems)

@OP Your actions are childish. The first thread was closed because this forum isn't the place to complain about this issue. You had every right to contest that decision, but you just defied it by posting the exact same thing. Now, when you are given a minor infraction for it, you accuse the admins of being childish. The admins have nothing to do with this. It was all the actions of a moderator. If you wish to resolve this, post in the resoluion centre where the real admins will look at the issue and try to find a suitable solution. If you wish to rant and complain, you have your family, coworkers and friends.
