Hi, I am really new to all this, and dont fully understand.
So, should a noob have these enabled in software sources?

this one is enabled...
http://packages.meibuntu.org/ free non-free

I just want to be sure, since that seems to be very important.

You don't need the partner repositories enabled. And I doubt you'll need the source-code repo's enabled either :)

Just enable the ones in the attachment.

Great, but that raises one more question. I have AWN and I had to enable these to get it.

Now that I have it, shouldn't I keep them enabled for the updates?

Cool, I was thinking that from what someone posted above. right now, I have a lot of updates coming thru, kernel bump to 2.2.24.(19) I think. this is a first for me. I already have (16) & "18" and was getting concerned about that, but then started thinking...:lolflag:

"If I really goof something up, maybe I can boot into (16), and delete "18" then it would be upgraded as opposed to a reinstall but I guess that is what recovery mode is for, just a little scared to mess with my boot up, since everything is working so good. Just a thought!
