View Full Version : [xubuntu] [SOLVED] Odd memory behaviour on IBM T22 laptop

I have a couple of old IBM T22 laptops which have 2 x 128MB sdram installed.

Xubuntu runs very nicely on both machines with no obvious software issues.

I've noticed some odd memory behaviour on both laptops on boot up. In probably one occasion in four, they are slower to boot and only seem to recognise 128MB of installed ram. Other than being a bit slow, everything else seems to work as normal.

I've tried moving the sdram around in both machines with no real improvement. Anyone got any ideas as to what might be happening?

see http://http://www.linuxreality.com/forums/index.php/topic,2367.0.html (http://www.linuxreality.com/forums/index.php/topic,2367.0.html)where there have been some useful observations made which have helped me and I hope will help others with an IBM T22.

In short I now have Fedora running nicely on the T22.
