Hi,
I successfully installed ALSA on Hardy, because PulseAudio don't play as I want.

I used this for installing ALSA on Hardy

sudo apt-get install module-assistant
sudo m-a update
sudo m-a prepare
sudo m-a a-i alsa

But still as in PulseAudio, Master volume control is at max and if I try to change it, it will automatically return to 100%. I can only change volume in Rythmbox, but I want to use also XMMS and VLC and lower the volume. Moreover, if I use any program which want to use audio, it is automatically blocked. Sound worked fine in Feisty. I used FF until now.I couldnt find any solution on net.

Can anybody help with this?

Hi all,

I've found a couple of very similar thread to this, which you might find useful:

I've posted a whole bunch of extra information on the symptoms against the latter - might be useful for some clever person out there!

Cheers,

Paul.
