Mythbuntu Install error on mysql-server_5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.1_all.deb

I have an Ubuntu 8.04 install and am installing mythbuntu. After basic install, I selected primary backend, so it downloads more packages. I get the message "Could not install all dependencies" and in the terminal window it shows "Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql-server_5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.1_all.deb
mythbuntu-control-centre: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0"
Any ideas of how to resolve this ?

Same here, I think. Specifically, I just did a clean install of 8.04.1 then updated current, then tried to install mythbuntu control centre (MCC), got the same result as Duncan, as it was trying to install mysql server 5.0.51a. I did not install the proprietary nVidia driver for my video card; I have learned in the past that it crashes my system permanently if I do.

IHTH, and please tell me where I can read the installation logs, and how to re-try the MCC install. I cannot retry it from the GUI; it refuses, saying "no changes detected".
