ok so the stuff that is circled in red i really wanted to change to a darker transparent colour but i tried the ccsm and the appearance manager thingys and i cant find out how to do it?
the other thig is i want to do the same thing to the main menu pop up box but when i went into ccsm and changed its transparency value it made the writing to transparent to read.
so i suppose i want the selected window tabs the clock and the main menu to look my panel at the bottom of the screenie. any ideas guys and gals will be massively appreciated thanks

Gnome color chooser in synaptic can change all that stuff and more. just open synaptic and search with gnome color it takes a little bit to figure it out.

Are you running the stock distribution go to the engine tabs and enable the settings. I have hardy heron and it has never said that there were any computability issues you also have to hit the apply to see a change it is kind of a complex set up to figure out, at least it was for me.

ok so i have been playing with the settings in gnome colour chooser for days but it will not allow me to make my main menu pop up panel the same colour as my panel at the bottom of the picture amongst other thing. does anyone know of any walkthroughs or different apps that will be easier to use?? cheers in advance
