So my college roommate loaned me his Olevia flat screen television for the summer, and I've been using it as my main display device. It connects via DVI to my video card, and for the most part has been wonderful. The only issues I've come up against have been with regard to text size. When I had my old 19" 4:3 LCD monitor, everything looked normal. But now that I'm using the big screen, some text comes in enormous and makes viewing web pages difficult. The thing is, not all text seems to be affected, so scaling the page zoom doesn't work. I'm wondering why this happens, and if there's a way to fix it. I'm including some pictures to demonstrate the problem. My hardware setup is AMD64 3000+ (I'm using 8.04 64bit) with a GeForce 6600GT (with the latest drivers provided through Envy). This problem manifests itself in the login screen (where I can't even read the text that I'm typing because it's so much larger than the input box), and on many titles on Firefox (but not Konqueror). Any ideas?
