Does XP or Vista natively (ie out-of-the-box) support SFTP? I can see there are a handful of clients about but I want to know if clients can connect via My Computer etc.
It's hard to believe that Vista doesn't support this by now.

This is MS you're talking about - supporting open standards! It'll be a cold day in hell before they implement real interoperability by including things like that. To MS, interoperability is when you buy another copy of Windows and do it their way.

Well, they support FTP out of the box. They might have made the move to SFTP. Do you know for sure if they don't?

Good point.
I'm pretty sure they haven't included sftp support. I would suggest filezilla.

Windows does not include SFTP support.
Filezilla is a good SFTP client.
You might want to try CompleteFTP (http://www.enterprisedt.com/products/completeftp/overview.html) if you want an SFTP server on Windows.
