I've got 8.04 installed on a desktop I'm using as a file/mail server (although with the desktop edition of Ubuntu installed).
For some reason, the machine freezes every so often (usually once a day, but some times it can go for several days without hanging). When it does, I have no choice but to perform a hard reset.
I can find nothing in the logs that might explain it. It doesn't happen at any particular time of day, and often when I'm away from the machine and not logged in.
Any suggestions as to why this might be? I can't afford for this to keep happening, as we use this machine as a file server for our small office.
