I want to buy a pocket camera like "Olympus MJU 840/740".
What camera should I choose knowing it will support Linux (or visa versa).

I know there is that list here : http://www.teaser.fr/~hfiguiere/linux/digicam.html
But it's outdates and I can't really know every model, I mean I want something small and good - I can't really check every camera there as there are thousands of them.

What do you KNOW it's working and isn't more then 3 years old.
Small camera with 4-5+ optical zoom and reasonably good shots at night.
not too costly.

That's only a question if you have to transfer the photos directly from the camera to the computer. If you use a flash card and have an appropriate reader hooked up to the computer, any camera will work fine. That's what I do.

I don't have a list, but any camera that supports the USB storage protocol should work and look like any external disk mount. I think programs like digiKam support some "regular" camera protocols, but I have no experience with those.
