hi
I just read a moderator's reply that I thought was a bit rude but ok, to avoid that it happens to me too  : I try not to double post although I could need some help and get no answer so far. So how long should I wait before trying it in a different forum?
thx

You shouldn't post the same message in another section. If your question hasn't gotten any attention, you may bump it after 24-48 hours. If you think you posted in the wrong section, you can ask the staff to move it to the right one.

If you have posted a thread - if after 24 hours it hasn't had an answer then reply to you own thread - it 'bumps' it to the top of the list again.
But - you need to wait for a couple of good reasons - it's good manners to wait a while, obviously everyone is volunteeering their time here - if you keep bumping you could end up with some cross replies.
Also, there is an unanswered thread team who look out for them - if you keep bumping then they won't see it.
I actually asked this in a thread when I first pitched up :)

:) you answer to your own thread and say "bump"
edit: sorry, now I bumped this one unnecessarily... I thought first that forest did not mention the "reply to own thread" thing...

Other people can bump your threads too sometimes, though that doesn't often happen
