hi guys im a noobie to ubuntu,but recently today went back to windows because i had issues with installing the vodafone 3g card on ubuntu,i get all packages installed and everything.software is installed and then when i click on it,nothing happens.any help to bring me back to linux

Hi.

Can you plugin the device and then boot up Linux. After that run Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal and enter the command

dmesg
Look at the various messages printed on the screen and let us know if there is a section that describes your modem and which device node it is attached (post this info back). Also post back the ouput of running

It seems like the system recognises the modem and its attached to /dev/ttyUSB0. You need to install a dialer application like gnomeppp, configure the modem and enter details like the dial up number, username and password and then use that to dial out.
