View Full Version : Suggestion: Search for unanswered posts

I've seen a few forums do this. Right now at the bottom of the search dropdown menu there is:
Find All Your Threads
Find All Your Posts
Find All Thanked Posts

Since we'd like this community to grow and be helpful, its nice to help newbies (or not so newbies) with questions that haven't been answered yet.

It would be nice to add a search down there for "Find All Unanswered Threads" to quickly find the most recent questions that haven't been answered yet.

Just a suggestion.

It is under Forum Tools in each subforum.

I don't see anything called "Forum Tools". Did you mean "Thread Tools"?

Even so, I don't see that option under thread tools.

Also, I mean a site wide find unanswered posts....although sub-forum specific one is a great idea too.

OK...I found the "Forum Tools". It was out in forum, not in a post like this.

That's great for any particular sub-forum, but it would still be nice to have a site wide one in the main search menu.

Yeah, but from what I hear, it can crash the entire forum...

Really? Why would that be? How is it different than any other search query?

Yes. I am not sure. You can search for unanswered posts in the Advanced Search page.

Perhaps it searches differently? I don't know personally.

I know that the forums are pushing the hardware (only 2 servers - 500,000+ members → you do the math ;)) So that could be why it's not site wide

Search --> Advanced Search --> Find threads with [change to] at most 0 replies

The forum's only run on 2 servers. Most other forums of this size would run on at least 4 I would imagine :)
