I've just started trying to use Ekiga, but it is not working.

I followed the 10 steps in Configuration Assistant. Then I tried to use the Echo test. Nothing happens. Ekiga seems to be dead.

Could somebody help me with this problem?

Please, disregard this message. After 24 hours of struggle Ekiga, suddenly is working. I don't have any idea of why it was not working before and why it is operational now. The same happened with Skype. But in that case I followed many previously posted advices found on the Web. After a million "sudo %$*&$%", "sudo gedit %#!%&%", etc... Skype started working.

Since I started my journey from Windows to Linux, about 5 weeks ago, I've noticed that this seems to be a common phenomenon in Ubuntu-land.:)
