My Thread got moved, and I'm not convinced that was a good idea

I asked, in the cafe "Did you upgrade from Dapper to Hardy"

It got moved to "Installation ...".
I agree the topic has to do with install/upgrade, but the main reason for posting it was not getting support, but finding out if anyone actually tried upgrading from 6.06 to 8.04, and succeeded. Cause to me, it looks as if there"s a bug in the update-manager or the LTS-to-LTS upgrade procedure- i'm just trying to find out if its specifix to my system or not.

I agree the replies so far are rather "support"-like, but that's a a natural reflex for most people here, I suppose.

So, where would my question get the best answer - in the cafe or in Support:Installation and Upgrades ?

I moved it to help you get support, as the Cafe often results in whining about things and random support.

If you really want it moved, I will move it back, but I think it would be best for you and the topic to stay in a support forum.

I wasn't sure were to post it to begin with - Cafe or Install&Upgrade - but picked cafe because I was more interested in knowing if anyone actually did a a succesfull Dapper to Hardy upgrade than in getting help with upgrading.
(It looks like I can work around the problem anyway)

I'm still undecided. If you think that in Install&Upgrade there's a better chance of finding people who upgraded from 6.06 to 8.04, you can leave it there.
