first off all go to system(sistema)
then administration
then synaptic
then search for wine
right button click on it an mark for installation
then search for cabextract
right button click on it an mark for installation
then go to firefox and download IES4linux
extract the files to some place you'll remember
run it
it may give you an error output, pay it no attention
then go to places/home/desktop
you'll see the IES4linux icon click on it and drag it to the desktop
now you can launch it easily any time you want
warning do not upgrade!!!

Wine Comes pre-installed with IES4Linux in any semi-recent version. Simply navigate to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Internet\ Explorer\ and run the exe.

It is used commonly as a quick way to get gecko.

you would think so but I fought with several versions of wine, and got scratch for my eforts, even on their home site, they advise you not to install ie on wine since it will break wine!!
this was the only way I could get it to work, and even then, it has issues but hey! no complaints here, it works if you need to see if a web site will work under that pile of w$
