Hello all,

I want to ask if it's possible to use HAL to find CD Writers on the system? And if it's possbile, are there any tutorials? Because I haven't seen anything on this subject...

have you checked Nautilus-cd-burner's source?

Not yet. Does it use HAL for the detection?

I'm pretty sure it does. If not you might be able to check gnome-volume-manager sources. That's got to have a cd burner detection method in it somewhere.

A quick google shows nautilus-cd-burner and HAL in the same context, multiple times.
