View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Programs in the system tray dissapeared

I don't know how but now the programs like Skype, Deluge, and Amrock that used to appear in the system tray when i launched them no longer do this

seriously with the amount of problems i've had in the past few days i'm thinking of packing it up and maybe waiting another 2 years till this might be ready again. My media players have stopped working too and i'm spending way too much time on trying to fix it all.

Don't give up... while it is frustrating to learn a new OS there are rewards as well.

Perhaps to soften the transition you could dual-boot with XP / *buntu.

I am not sure but it sounds like you might have lost your notification area... you can add this back by right clicking on the top bar (you could do it on any panel) and selecting 'add to panel' from the list that pops up you can scroll down to find the notification area.

If I have not interpreted what component you were talking about let me know.

I too just recently converted... my server went last night after three desktop systems in the last year.
