Change optical digital audio out on

Hello,

I've just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my macbook. Everything seems to be covered by the guide, except for the digital audio out.

Does anyone know how to turn it on?

Soundcard: SigmaTel STAC9221 A1
Alsa driver: 1.0.16

See if it shows up in alsamixer run from the terminal. Once started hit the TAB key once to get to the Capture section. m will mute/unmute.

Hello

I have the same soundcard and I'm having the same problem. The sounds works but no digital out. I checked Kmix and the digital is set to max. I also noticed my ATI Tv card doesn't play through the line in either. Everything works when in windows so im lost. :confused:
