View Full Version : Looking for a Macbook...

Well, I have to start with college next year. I could go all out and buy a Macbook...but they're really expensive.
If anyone has a Macbook, and wouldn't mind saving it for a while, I'd be willing to raise about 700 bucks for one.

I'm looking for a fairly recent model, one that uses the Intel Core 2 Duo technology. I currently don't have a PayPal account hooked up, but I plan on doing so soon.

Please note that I work a minimum-wage job at a McDonalds. It might take about a month or two to even accumulate money to pay for it.

If worse comes to worse, I can just go buy my own. So, if we can't come to an agreement, no sweat.

Try your local craigslist.

Man educational discount gets you one for 1000... might as well spring for a new one... or you can even get refurbished ones from their site for the amount you have listed there, and they come with warranties...

I checked over at craigslist. Unfortunately, there's currently no offerings for any Macbooks in Peora.

I mainly want a Macbook to just be able to easily and legally run Mac OSX. If I don't like it, I'll replace it with Ubuntu (or possibly Macbuntu).

In any case, I'm still looking as of right now. If anyone within the US is willing to be paid cash, I'd be willing to buy.

As for anyone in the UK, I'm not sure whether I can...I'd have to convert things to pounds and whatnot, and I'm not sure of the current conversion rate. Ah well.

Bit of an update: I've decided to enter a few online contests, as well as a few of those "Refer enough people to win a FREE Macbook" sweepstakes.
EDIT: Links removed. Had no idea they would even be considered spam.

You can hit it up on my blog (http://seanrtilley.blogspot.com/2008/06/my-attempt-to-get-free-macbook.html), or on Digg first (http://digg.com/apple/Help_a_Guy_Out_My_Attempt_to_get_a_Free_Macbook_Pr o).

Um...

It is in your sig already.

Instead of spam, couldn't you just get a lower costing (but higher quality) laptop? (A Thinkpad leaps to mind)

Alas, I want a laptop that is capable of legally running OSX.
And I apologize if I'm spamming, I added it into my sig after making the announcement.
