View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu freezes when playing music or videos

Hey all

i'm as knowledgeable as a rock when it comes to ubuntu/linux,I just installed 8.04 on a slightly old computer,anyway,when I try to play music or movies,ubuntu just freezes and I have to hit the restart button so it reboots.

my system specs:
1.3Ghz Celeron CPU
MS 6368 Motherboard
256 Ram
Aureal AU 8830 PCI soundcard

Running Ubuntu 8.04

anybody got any ideas?

you need WAY more RAM m8,,get as much as your mother board will hold

you can get 1 gig RAM in there,,I would get that.
