pendrivelinux not in widescreen format

I am trying pendrive linux on my HP 6710b.
It loads with a VESA driver and says it uses 1680x1050 resolution.
Fact is it uses 1280x1024 cause i see 2 black bars on the left and right of the screen.
Any idea how i can make it to use 100% of the screen (a 1680x1050 screen)

What graphics card do you have? That could be the reason why that is happening.
