I am trying to get adobe installed here is the link I followed to get it. (Adobe Flash Installation)
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766683

I followed the instructions all the way to... "you may now restart firefox and use the plug in"... and it still wont play videos on you tube, or music on pandora internet radio,(just testing grounds)

When I located the libflashplayer.so, there was also an icon in there labeled "flashplayer installer" should I have placed this on the desktop also, before running the code?

or should I have applied/enabled it somewhere?'

also, just to be sure, is it ok to trash the icons left on the desktop?

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

has always worked for me.

And yes, once a program is installed you may nuke the icons.
