Do you guys know how to enable the compiz effect(dont know what its called) in which you drop a window and there is a water like ripple effect in the background? Like if you pull a window and place it on the desktop it has a ripple effect.

You'll want to search System > Administration > Synaptic for packages relating to "compiz". Install one called "ccsm" and another that I think goes by the name of compiz-fusion-plugins-extra. Then, go to System > Preferences > Advanced Desktop Effects Settings. Enable the water plugin, and hit Shift + F9 to make it start raining on your desktop. ;)

I already have the plugin you are talking about. I need some other plugins that I dont have at the moment.
At 226 of this vid is the effect I am looking for. Other effects like snow and dolphins inside the cube are absent as well. Once again I have the one you mentioned with shift f9, plus fire grafitti, animations, etc.... but I am missing some hope someone knows how to hook this up.

The package compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported will get you going then.

compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported is not (and has never been) part of Ubuntu.
Ubuntu only provides official (and therefore supported) plugins.

The effect you are referring to is not a part of Compiz or Compiz Fusion. There has been a hack in Beryl to do that but it hasn't been ported to Compiz Fusion, because it was regarded too hacky to be maintainable.

My bad, I'm running Intrepid which has the package. :D
