View Full Version : [ubuntu] Could not download all repository indexes

On attempting to update through the auto-update function, I get the following error AFTER the download and install:
Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/Ubuntu/dists/6.06/LTS/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.31 80]
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Any ideas why the package is not on the server?
Any solutions out there?

That is because that is a Dapper repo which is not supported anymore. What version of Ubuntu are you running?

Hi guys.
I have same problem. Isn't it your time zone location related? I mean the repos. Or are they the same for everyone? Cuz i've installed from 8.04 CD and if i can see here those are dapper repos. I wonder , how are they dapper if it is 8.04 clean install (for me atleast). So, ill look out for this thread, if it gets fixed in here.
GL&HF!

Hi all agane.
Today started Ubuntu and got installed most updates of 69 that there were. 5 remained with the same error. Isn't it something to do with servers that are up or down? :)
Have a nice day.
