Ubuntu and a home network

I have a computer with massive storage that has all my music and movies on it. It has to run Windows XP 32 bit. Will Ubuntu recognize it and work with it fine? I remember reading something about Ubuntu not liking NTFS file systems...

it will recognize it no problem. Samba should be installed by default. As long as you are sharing the XP drive over your network then you should be all set.
