Alien Arena not working

I click Alien Arena, to play it, and my screen goes black for one second, then goes back to normal like nothing happened. I tried download the AA Browser, and when I try to join a server on that, it does the same thing. I'm running 8.04 on VMware Server, with Windows XP as the host. Help would be appreciated.

1. check/search/make sure that your video card is properly set up.
2. launch the game(s) from the terminal to look for output errors.
3. I'm not even sure you can run 3D games with vmware...I guess another member have to answer that.

You cannot run Alien Arena in VMWare because it does not offer software rendering. To use OpenGL rendering you have to run it on the host operating system.

Alien Arena is for Windows platform as well.
