Logitech G51 & CMI8738 Sound Card

Ok i just bought both of those and was not aware the card would be tricky to make work in ubuntu

The Speakers all work fine except the front one when playing youtube ( all ive tested at this moment.)

when i switch it to the music surround matrix the front one works and the 2 rear ones dont

any one shed some light or able to help me

ive read something about an .asoundrc file but i dont understand this and how to make it work.

so if anyone has any knowledge of this please lend me a hand. even more appreiciated would be if some one who has the same hardwar as me helos

ok theydont work at all now and i know why but i cant fix it


when i reinstalled ubuntu...it was the only way i could think of doing it they worked again

and when i went on the volume control preferences it was something like CMI8738 PCI as the device i was controlling

i do all the updates restart and surprise sirprise they dont work... :| at all again..

and the control is just C MEDIA CMI3783 no PCI..


even when i do get them working i still need to get them all to work
