Wine Doors, does it even work?

I was just playing around and installed Wine Doors on Gutsy. Does this even work? I tried installing a few things with their installer and it just seems to stall.

There are a couple things installed like Winamp and dvddecrypt, but I can't see how to run them?

Anyone have some work around? I tried just installing one thing at a time and even that stalls out.

Honestly, I have never found any of the third party front ends for Wine to be all that useful. Wine Doors, PlayOnLinux, Winetools... all of them looked promising, but when it comes to actual usefulness, learning to use Wine from the terminal or getting the official Wine frontend, CrossOver, is a much better choice in the long run.

It stalls because you're downloading things from slow repositories?

I don't know. It has its own repos and some special stuff in it that WINE doesn't. I know how to use WINE. But this is supposed to be more like a free crossover.

Anyways it doesn't set up right so I guess its useless.

Wine doors worked half way decent when I used gutsy but on hardy wine doors seems completely broken.How did you install wine doors?I got wine doors for gutsy from getdeb:

Actually I am using Gutsy. I got it from getdeb also. Maybe the repos are just too slow.

winetricks is a useful tool, though commandline.

wine-doors works for me just fine <.<.

Wine Doors works fine for me too wine-1.0rc2 and Ubuntu 8.04. I really like winetricks as well, it has few extra options than wine doors.
