Hi there! I've just compiled anjuta 2.0.1 but there must be some problem: I got a very basic and minimal IDE that is not even comparable with the version 1 and doesn't match the screenshots on the site.
What did go wrong?

bye,
Donato

Hm. Current Anjuta is a development release. From the anjuta site:

This is an alpha & unstable release and may not be suitable for production use. However, we encourage to use it and help us with bug reports. Both stable and development release can be used simultaneously, but they should be installed in different install prefix (important).

In other words, if you want to install it and help us find bugs, cool, but don't come and say we didn't warn you!

Lolz @ least you could install it......

Mine is having a problem a problem with one of the libraries i think.. (cant remember which one)

Now only running 1.2.4 (stable i think)

Il keep looking back to see if you get it fixed - then proabably try and install again

Compiled and currently trying to use Anjuta 2.0.1, but it is so very buggy. It would seem that I cannot even make a new gnome project without it crashing. Oh well, the overall appearance is nice and the integrated tools are a really nice touch.

A nice advantage to compiling Aujuta 2.0.1 UNSTABLE, is you get to try it out without screwing you production version, 1.2.4. I installed my 2.0.1 into the /usr/local/. :) Looking forware to the newer changes. :)

It's really great that you guys have gone through the process of compiling Anjuta 2.0 and are giving it a try. But please remember that this is alpha quality software, and in order for it to be able to stabilize it needs people like you who test it. What you need to do (if you're not already doing so) is send feedback to the Anjuta guys so that they can make the final release rock solid. Of course, if you feel up to it, you could also provide patches..

With the above comment in mind, you can also download the latest CVS tarball snapshots from here: Anjuta 2.x Development (http://www.anjuta.org/development), or you can use CVS to be really current.

Unfortunatly I could not get the CVS tarball to compile, well even configure, so if somone has a fix for this please post it. :) On my end it would seem that autogen.sh did not work properly.
