Okay, reading from various sources, I'm confused about the name.

How do I download the .iso?
I looked on the main page, but it leads to weird links and there's no trace of the .iso file.

Is the project still alive?

I don't think the project is alive anymore. May I recommend trying Rui's guide (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=546746) at installing E17 on Ubuntu?

Have a look at OpenGEU instead as it essentially Ubuntu with Enlightenment.

I use OzOS which is a Ubuntu based Enlightenment17 distro developed by Rui Pai over at CafeLinux (http://cafelinux.org/forum/index.php). OzOS use Enlightenment17 from CVS so you will always be as bleeding edge as you want to be, Rui Pai even included a smart script inside the menu so that you always can update you E17 from CVS just as easy as apt-get.

Just follow the links in my sig :).

Edit: the x86 version is based on Hardy Heron and a x64 version based on Hardy is on it's way.
