I suspect that ACPI (that deals with power management and such, right?) is not working with my HP dv9000. My laptop gets pretty hot as time goes by, reaching temperatures nearing the max acceptable temperature for my HDD at 60 C. I think it may be because my fans are incorrectly configured/recognized because they don't go on very much. Additionally, when I try to set the hdparm in my hard drive, it says that it was successfully changed. But after rebooting, I check the hdparm value and it says that its bad/missing. This is a problem with my ACPI I'm assuming, right? How do I fix this? I don't think this was a problem with Gutsy, but I can't seem to remember if I experienced similarly high temperatures with Gutsy as well.
