is there any software that i could use ot emulate xp on Ubuntu which supports mic's so i can use windows live massinger

Here are 2 things you could try, 2 free 1 may cost you money.

1. Try wine, It allows you to run Windows applications inside of linux without modifcation or the overhead of virtualization. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=127

2. Buy a USB microphone, then you may (MAY!!) be able to control the USB microphone from within Windows, if you have webcam with a Microphone that may work also.

3. If you are running linux, find a linux app, such as Pidgin, kopete etc.

well i tried wine before and it diden't work i can't afford a mic just yet (is there a list of ones that work) and pigen dosen't have voip support for msn accounts
