Install Ubunto from an SD card (onto hard disk)

Hi,

I have a laptop, without cd drive, and have no other computer available for network install. The only thing my laptop can boot from are SD cards and hard disk.

I wondered, how do I install ubuntu from an SD card? Can I just copy all files from the live cd onto the SD card and do the install? Or what should I do?

I would assume it would be the similar if not the same as installing from a usb stick this guide from the wiki should show how to do that:
