where and how to find pcsx?

where and how to find pcsx2 or PCSX? Is there a howto for getting PCSX to run successfully? Or is there a howto for compiling the source or package and installing PCSX from the source file? I am a newbie so please go easy on me with explanations.

if it isn't listed in synaptic, with all the repositories turned on, then yes you will have to compile it from source. As for a HOWTO, doing a quick search on the forum doesn't reveal any, so I'll say no, there aren't any atm.

I was going to suggest ePSXe... but it seems to me that I remember your name from somewhere. Pad plugin? SPU plugin? My memory is shaky about those days when I was more involved with the emu scene.

You can find PCSX here (http://www.pcsx.net/). The binary package works fine. Even when you double click it in Nautilus. :)

You'll need to find the appropriate plugins of course. I suggest NGEmu.com (http://www.ngemu.com/).

I would rather go with Epsxe. It's a pain in the neck to install,but imho it's the best playstation emu.

Bios: googling SCPH1001.BIN
Plus the various plugins: Video,sound,cdrom, joystick
Ngemu and pete's plugins,
P.S. the only reason why I keep my windows partition is because the linux epsxe version doesn't have a working analog joystick,
