hi, i'm a newbie here. i just want to ask anyone can help me for implementation of bacula as backup solution. my questions goes like this:
1. Can i use ubuntu as my OS that will act as server?
2. any other documentation of implementation aside from the one from bacula.org?
3. can you share real experience on bacula?

many thanks in advance.

I looked at bacula but found it excessively complicated (or sophisticated) for my needs. I ran across an php script, ribs, that does incremental, vanilla (no compression, just files) backups via ssh or local.

I'm fiddling with Bacula now.

Lots and lots of poking around trying to figure things out.

Finally got the nice Graphical GUI up and running with this command.......

/usr/bin/bat -c /etc/bacula/bat.conf

When I know what I'm doing, I'll start a thread on HOW I DID in Ububtu 8.10 Intrepid.
