Hi there,

I've been reading various posts about External Drive Booting, through USB, the conclusion was simple you're not able to boot from the Drive without a CD or something else into the mac.

However would this be different for Firewire drives?
Since the EFI natively made it able to boot from Firewire, is this possible?

To boot Ubuntu from a Firewire drive, without the need for anything else?

Thanks in advance.

you can boot from USB natively as well. From what I have seen, using firewire makes no difference. It is the fact that it is a "legacy" operating system that makes it non-working (It uses the emulated MBR)
