I have a AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK EDITION processor and a ASUS M3A-H/HDMI motherboard coming from Newegg. Just want to make sure I got things right. Want to make sure I didn't overdo it anywhere.
I will dual boot Ubuntu Linux and Win XP. It will be used for Internet, light gaming (nothing intense] photo and video editing, and will later add a tv card to add DVR from Satellite dish that I plan to network to all TVs. And may start to learn about overclocking. Although I"m not sure overclocking is needed. Anyway I thought I would put this out there and make sure these components will meet my needs and will work well together.
Here's what I ordered.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee

That for me is perfect specs.
Maybe decrease on the information, ie. Model and item #, and just say how much or how fast it is.

You won't really know until you install Ubuntu

I'm going with ATi because of the AMD compatibility and because I have been having success with my current ATI 7000 card in Ubuntu.
Sorry about the extensive post, just trying to be thorough and got carried away with cut and paste. Any way folks, thank you both for your informative replies. They are both appreciated very much. Lee
