catch 20/02 with Vostro Notebook 1000 bios

The bios updater for Vostro Notebook 1000 is listed as running in Windows or DOS but it only runs in Windows. I have boot CD to flashing BIOS, it's DOS and it worked just find on my other Desktops ( Custom AMD64 running U8.04 x64 and a IBM NetVista XP sp3 32bit )

Having to format my laptop with Windows just to flash the bios, is a lot of work to do something very simple.

I think DELL should have ISO's for flashing BIOS's to download, burn, boot, and flash.

I googled a bit and found some references on updating the bios from Ubuntu, like this one:

But I don't know how reliable such procedures are.

that will not work on my laptop because it doesn't support "Remote BIOS Update".
