View Full Version : [ubuntu] Streaming Live CCTV?

Is there a program that will allow me to stream live cctv from my server?

I have a cheap cctv camera connected to a hauppauge pvr card that works fine. I can ssh into the machine and view using mplayer from anywhere when I am at a PC but I would like to be able to view the footage on my palm TX.

I have core player installed which can open a URL so what I would like to do, if possible, is have a program convert the live feed to a stream which can then be viewed remotely. I have looked at mediatomb and gnump3d but can't see how to manage with these.

Give this a go!

I'm going to try it myself over the next few days.

Thanks.

Funnily enough, I found that thread last night and have just installed it all on my server. Only problem is I am getting no picture at the moment - I will update with my progress and if it will allow me to stream a feed to my palm.

Or you could try Motion (http://www.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/Motion/WebHome)

I've recently had a need for this type of thing and my searches turned up that. Works pretty well.
