In the next version i think a mobile phone software should be installed by default, as i bet 95% of people that use ubuntu, have a mobile it would be nice to just be able to plug in and sync...
what do you think?

what do you think?Bluetooth? Already supported. As for wired connection... is there a common standard?

It's just a matter of installing opensync and multisync (beware to pick the correct multisync).
However, I think it's too soon to include opensync as a default package., the gui still needs some polishing (it really is too much asked for a new user to run "hcitool scan && sdptool browse ${MAC}", and make his way through a large configuration file), and the plugins do not seem to be that stable yet (I have had plenty of problems with opensync-plugin-syncml, which is to be used with many phones).

Maybe there are other syncronisation applications out there, but I don't know of any as flexible as opensync.

Have posted in there, i know there is a bluetooth option, but i dont have bluetooth..... i have a wired connect, Im not sure if there is a standard or not, but i do think opensync should be included as this will benefit most everyone in the community

Well I know connectivity is a main aim of Intrepid so you just might get your wish - we'll have to see.

Closing, since there's an identical thread in the Idea Pool.
