Why does scrolling suck so bad on sites like facebook in firefox. I swear 3.0 is the best browser I've ever used and in osX it works perfectly. In Linux however that one issue makes it unusable for me because I use facebook a lot. Every other browser scrolls just fine, Opera, Konqueror.
I just started using Opera, which is really good especially now that most sites use flash and not anything that requires the totem/mplayer plugin... I could never get those to work.
Why!! Why do you do this to me firefox? You deny me perfect setup status... why!

Have you tried going to preferences and checking use smooth scrolling under the advanced tab?

I have similar problems on some of my Ubuntu systems. Basically (with/without smooth scrolling), scrolling is delayed and 'klunky', meaning it is not any sort of smooth and lags horribly.
I think the main problem is with the video card drivers and not with Firefox itself, though. One desktop (nVidia 8600GT) suffers from this, but another desktop (nVidia 7600GT) and my laptop (nVidia 7400GO) do not.

Are you referring to times when you happen to scroll over a long series of links (such as those at the bottom of the forum main page?)

i have also noticed this in firefox 3 beta 5 in hardy.
dont think it is gpu driver issue has it happens with geforce 7300 go and openchrome graphics cards.
the only have have found to stop it is to downgrade to firefox 2 where it works perfectly

Actually if I remember correctly - it is actually an issue between the GPU's and Firefox. Possibly just the GPU actually.
I don't experience this issue half as much as others I know that have Nvidia cards

Yup
I have a 8600gt which had issues like this with hardy. I tried envy, manually installing the drivers etc etc etc.
In the end i just reinstalled gutsy. Works like a dream again now :)
I am sure i will install hardy when 8.10 is released lol
