I recently upgraded to 8.04, and since then, I've been sporadically losing the sound on my Inspiron E1505 laptop. When this happens, I am unable to open many applications, and I can't restart unless I use my laptop's power button. I can't think of any reason why this is happening, and it is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. It's been happening more than once a day, and I can't seem to find anyone else on the forum who's been having the same problem.

Enable proposed updates in Software Sources and let 'em rip. Lots o' bug fixes in there, including a fix to the scheduler that should help performance issues.

Or you could wait for 8.04.1 to release in July. I don't like to wait, though :)

System-> Administration-> Software Sources-> Updates tab-> check "Pre-released updates (hardy-proposed". These updates may be still be in test.

I have a supped up dell inspiron 1525 I bought running gutsy, and upgraded to hardy even before it was "released" (i just can't wait for new releases :P), so far everything is running smoothly, but I have had some issues with the bluetooth mouse not always connecting, and it drops my wireless connection when running bittorrent. I don't think it is a router problem, because all I have to do is disconnect my wireless connection and reconnect it to get it back, and it only does it while running azureus. Not major issues, but posting incase others have experienced a similar issue/have a solution for it.
