Hi There

Firstly i installed ubuntu onto a external HD saves having to partition my main HD.

Basically now i have come to realise that whenever i turn my laptop on i have to have my external HDD connected to my laptop so GRUB can load.

Can someone tell me how i can uninstall ubuntu and GRUB from my external HD and have my vista laptop back to normal so i dont have to keep connecting my HD to load GRUB

Thanks in advance for any help....

without the usb drive attatched, insert your vista disk as if you were going to reinstall and when you get past the screen with location and language, choose repair and let it check for problems. it should repair itself.

next time, take out the internal hard drive before installing to usb.

Thanks for the tip but i tried it and windows repair just tells me nothing is wrong.

Any ideas why? or any more ideas to help?

A complete system restore is really the last thing i want to do but seems like i may have to
