Hi i need to install a theme.
i go to http://www.gnome-look.org/ and i download GDM Themes, and it is in the .tar.bz2 format.
i extract it then there is a help file says use "gdmsetup" to install.

How??

Don't extract it. Open System→Administration→Login Window and drag and drop the archive right into the list of themes.

Hey folks,

Total Newbie to Linux here (not computers, just linux), and I can't get the above to work. Is this because I'm using the Netbook Remix (9.21 I think)? I can find a "Login Screen" under administration, but it's a simple dialog box with no themes in it. ??

Thanks!

Mark

Thats because you resurrected an old thread which applies to ubuntu back then. Please start a new thread. e.g. GDM setup in ubuntu xxx.

Someone else did and I remembered the solution. Memory eh.
