my ubuntu (gnome) while it was working for a while when i first installed it, has started randomly freezing when browsing menus or web sites.

any ideas what is causing it or, how i check what would be causing it?
my guess is the video card because it normally is with most computers :P

also when it freezes the mouse can still move but everything is unresponsive.

also if this helps (or i gave pointless code):

it was even with the default settings (without beryl, only normal fx)
