Turn off subtitles in mplayer

My subtitles files are in the same folder as my video.

By default, mplayer will display the subtitles. Is there any easy way to turn off the subtitles from displaying(ideally from my remote), without renaming the subtitle file or moving the subtitle file to a different directory?

I think it is the "J" key that enable/disables subtitles in mplayer.
