View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wine minimized

I run a program called GradeQuick under wine in Ubuntu 8.04. It works well but occasionally I mess up and minimize the window, I immediately lose access to the window as it seems to be invisible to application switcher or indeed the task-bar. Any suggestions how to get it back when I do this? At the moment I have to open system monitor and kill the process, then restart the program and mentally flog myself for minimizing it in the first place.

I dont have the answer but i know some people that probably do.

Go to -- http://forum.winehq.org/viewforum.php?f=2

Thats the official wine forum. Make a new thread their, although you may have to register.

or install an irc program such as xchat

sudo apt-get install xchat

and connect to the 'Ubuntu Servers' (irc.freenode.net) and join

#winehq

to join a channel with xchat, once you have selected the appropriate server and its logged you on type

/j #winehq <press-enter>

(dont actually type <press-enter>)

anyway, hope it helps ;~)

No joy, seems as if it is bug with this particular application :-(
