I tried installing a driver I downloaded from nVIDIA, I went into properties and changed the .run file so it could run as an executable. When I double clicked it I chose "run in terminal", because "run" did nothing. This is the result I got

ok... first off i would recommend the Restricted drivers. These are in System>Administration>Hardware Drivers try that and see how it goes.

Hi...

What is your card exactly? There is a Nvidia glx driver in the repositories (under Synaptic, enable all of the repository types listed,) one for the legacy cards and one for the newer ones.

or envy?


sudo apt-get install envyng-gtk

then applications>system>envy
